This Privacy Policy explains how VrtyQ ("VrtyQ," "we," "us") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you install and use our Shopify application and visit vrtyq.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Store & account data. When you install VrtyQ, we receive your Shopify store domain, basic store details, and an access token that lets the app read and update your products, images, and metafields with your permission.
• Product & asset content. Product titles, descriptions, attributes, tags, and image references we process to provide PIM and DAM features. We reference images stored in Shopify and store the metadata layer (tags, alt text, collections, versions) associated with them.
• Usage data. Log and diagnostic information such as feature usage, credit consumption, and error reports, used to operate and improve the Service.
• Contact data. Information you submit when you email us or complete a form, such as your name, email address, and message.

2. How we use information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and its features.
• To generate AI-assisted content (copy, tags, translations, image scenes) when you choose to use those features.
• To meter plan usage and process billing through Shopify.
• To respond to support requests and communicate about the Service.
• To monitor security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. AI processing & subprocessors

When you use an AI feature, the relevant product or image content is sent to third-party AI providers (such as Anthropic and, where you enable them, OpenAI or Google) solely to produce the requested output. We do not sell your data. We use reputable infrastructure and AI subprocessors and require them to handle data in line with their terms; AI features that rely on optional provider keys are only active when you enable them.

4. How information is shared

We share information only as needed to run the Service: with Shopify, with the AI and hosting providers described above, and where required by law. We do not sell personal information.

5. Data retention

We retain store and content metadata for as long as your app is installed and as needed to provide the Service. When you uninstall VrtyQ, we deactivate access and delete or de-identify associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, and isolated storage — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and promptly address issues.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold. Merchants can uninstall the app at any time to revoke access. To make a request, email support@vrtyq.com.

8. Merchants' customers

VrtyQ is a merchant tool. We do not process your store customers' personal data as part of normal operation; the content we handle is product and asset information. Merchants remain responsible for their own privacy obligations to their customers.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above and, where appropriate, notifying you in-app.
